Check out the underside of this Vette
I am looking to buy my first Vette and would appreciate it if you guys could look at these pictures http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ssekaz photos I have no interest in this car but want to know how bad this rust is. Would this be a car to avoid at all costs? Thanks for the advice.

kinda hard to tell from those 2 photos. It doesn't look too bad-mostly surface rust. Look around the bird cage and the rear of the frame- that seems to be where most of the rust damage occurs.

Maybe its just me but that first pic looks doctered. Certain portions of it look blurred while other portions are still in focus...strange

I agree that picture looks funny, almost like trying to cover up a patch job

Any car that's driven will probably look like this, but these are not the areas to be concerned with. Bird cage and rear corners above the gussets are the biggest culprits.

Well from those pictures that is not the rust you need to worry about
that is just surface rust and will need to be delt with but not its not a issue.
like the others have said you need to look at the birdcage that is the worst, also look into the windshield and see if you can see any rustt build up guarentee you will need to do some work on it if you see any.
heres a picture of my frame its just surface rust it is all solid!

Thise pics don't look too bad.
But they're not where you need to look for rust. The main location where C3s rust is along the frame rail, under the door, right in front of the rear wheel. This area seems to take all the abuse rust-wise.
Also, looking along the windshield pillars is a good idea, too. Gives oyu some idea of the condition of the birdcage, although not always accurate.
