Carb question from an aquaintance:I don't know the answer.
I have an aquaintance that is having problems with his 79 corvette. Here is his dilema:
"(79 vette) and it was parked at an angle with the nose up in the air over night, and now it wont start.
do any of you know if carb's have different issues with angles?? "
He can't roll the car back because there is a tree right behind him. I am posting this question because I know you guys are the Corvette (C3) GURUs .
Thanks for you help in advance.

Safety Car
Re: (MNJack)
Sounds like your buddy's stuck between a rock and a carb place! ... (sorry!) MJ
The only thing I can think of is maybe the primary bowl went dry, but that should have corrected itself after a few cranks. He needs to check choke and accelerator pump operation then ignition.
Tell him this NEVER happens on your 94!!!! :yesnod:  :)

Re: (LAvetteman)
Thanks for all your help guys. I let him know what you guys said (minus some of the jokes, even though they were funny).
Yeah, it doesn't. BUT I have to worry about he optispark going if it gets wet. :D
Still I would never trade my vette for anything. :D

Melting Slicks
Re: Carb question from an aquaintance:I don't know the answer. (Scott94C4)
I think the idle jets and accelerator pump feeds are located at the front of the fuel bowl. The holes will be exposed and not draw any fuel. On the other hand the main metering feeds are at the back of the bowl. He can get it running by splashing some fuel into the carb as a solution to the dry accelerator pump...doesn't need any more than a tablespoon full. Then keep the throttle open so the main metering kicks in all the way at around 1200RPM and drive the car without letting it try to idle cause if he lets up off the gas it won't idle.
