How much is a disassembled car worth?
I posted this question in the C2 forum, but I need you C3 guys input as well:
I may go look at a C2 coupe this weekend that is for sale. A widow's deceased husband died after he had disassembled the vehicle in the garage. I can estimate the value of the car and the restoration needed, but what reduction should I place on the value of the car for being disassembled? Assume that the engine is together and on a stand.

It depends on the condition of the car. If it just needs reassembly then figure what your time and effort will be worth and deduct that from what a complete car would be worth.
If it is need of restoration he may have done you a favor. Buy it as a restoration project and figure you have already started.

You must be really sure of the parts you have are all that is needed to re-assemble the car. I paid only 600 for my "basket case" and now have nearly 17,000 in it, probably 3/4 of that is parts and engine rebuild/mods. Would I do it again? Sure, but I would be certain to pay a dirt cheap price for the car. C2 parts are probably more rare and expensive then C3 parts. What about the frame? is it off? What about interior, you could spend some big bucks there real quick, mine was in really good condition except for the carpeting. This is a car you are certain to be real proud of once it is complete though.

You really would need to see the condition of the parts and how much is there. It would really help if you could take someone who's restored a C2.
