What color speedo gear for 71 BB auto w/4:11's
Can anyone tell me what color speedometer gear to use in my 71 BB with auto trans and 4:11 gears in the rear end.
Car has 3:08's in it now,stock trans,tire size
Just bought a complete rear end with 4:11's and need to get some other misc suspension items,and would like to know what speedo gear to get at the same time. Any help would be appreciated.

I changed from 3:08 to 4:11 and now the speedo almost perfectly reads my speed in kilometers on the bigger MPH numbers on speedo face. Much easier to read! Can't bring myself to correct this seeing as speedo was replaced so it doesn't show real mileage. :lol: :cheers:

What made you change to 411 from the 3.08? Just curious as I have a BB with 4.11, thinking about changing to a more friendly cruising gear.

I've had the car now for a little over a year and found myself only driving
around town.I wanted alittle more neck breaking acceleration,gears are the cheapest way. I'm going to keep the 3:08's and if I want to do some long distant trip or find myself doing more highway driving I'll swap them back in.
I'm a mechanic and run a street stock,stockcar so, the hassle doesn't bother

Wait,all the catalogs say 22 tooth green is for manual trannys.
I need to know which one for an automatic.Do you know the color for auto?
