Default planning to make video footage of my Corvette

Here in Manitoba sports cars are typically parked from October to May because of conditions (ice, snow, -100 degree temps). So i wouldnt mind getting a good 10 minutes of my corvette on tape for the quite winter evenings infront of the TV. Anyone have any good ideas for a photo shoot? I was thinking of starting it off with the garage door open and the Vette starting up and backing out... then some crusing, maybe a little burnout.. then back in the garage and close the door. All to some cool music. ideas????

A hot slim in the pass seat wouldn't be a bad idea, but then you might get side tracked and end up making a **** video. :D

Beginning of movie.
Scene one: Shot of the garage door
the stones start playing "Start me up"
you hear the engine fire up, the song decreases in volume
and the door begins to open.............

I thougt that'd be a good "start"
I'll let the others input now

i'm thinking the first shot could also be:

camera sitting on side of road, about a foot off the ground, facing perpendicular to road, and all you hear is this engine screaming from the distance and then roooooaarrr.....the car flies by at like 100 mph....

i'm thinking of doing some crazy highway driving with a guy standing out of the t-top with the camera

maybe a drag race with me, but have the camera sitting at the start line, and all you see are the butt ends of the vettes, flying down the road

sunday night cruise tactics - a lesson on how to pick up girls (what you should say and what you shouldn't say)..... :smash:
-since i have a perfect driving record, i could start a burn out next to a cruiser, and you could film the whole thing........

just some ideas

i will bring over some Jimmy Beam and we can discuss

That's always a good idea. After 3/4 of the bottle is gone you hear the infamous words of Bubba "Hey guys, watch this" (which means impending doom)

The last time i said "Hey guys watch this" I was in my Trans Am. IT was not pretty. I won't tell you the story but it involved police sirens.... anyways, I never say "Hey guys watch this" anymore.

Haha, yup that's a cool video. I've made a couple videos so far, mostly of the Florida Corvette Challenge stuff, but I did make a plain one of OctoberVettes last year. This year I have something else in mind for OctoberVettes so all you C3 guys make sure to be there :D I also made a DVD of the last FCC and it turned out pretty cool, talk to Mark (iscocelese) about it as I gave him 8 copies to pass out. My suggestion is to shoot a bunch of tape and watch it a couple times to give yourself a couple ideas on how to edit it, then edit the tape and save it on your computer.....actually save every little edit you do or you'll be reloading it into the computer, don't ask how I know that :cry Once you edit the tape you'll probably have a good idea as to what tunes you might want to add, if any. Just remember to keep it in a size and format that everyone can enjoy, make 2 versions if you have to, a hi-res one and a web ready one. Use a digital video camera, the quality is much nicer. Get a digital camera also, throw some pictures in along witht he footage, the digital camera will take much nicer stills than the video will. That's about all I can think of, take your time too, do a good editing job and before you make it final make sure things are the way you want them, even after making a couple I still screw things up.

Here's a link to the last one I made; http://www.c3sharktank.com/theater/theater.html it runs over 20 minutes but is only 37MB

I use Adobe Primere.

Digital Video cameras are really nice. You can dump the entire tape to your HD (if you have enough room - 18gb per tape) and then just edit away.

If you want any tips or a program to dump the entire tape let me know.

chris.

I liked the Stones "Start Me Up" as a beginner. How about something like "Shut Down" by the Beach Boys as a closer with scene of you ride fading in the distance?

This sounds like a cool project. May have to do something like this myself. Of course, mine would be full of trips to the parts shop, repair shop, hospital, etc.

For the fast paced scenes and 'stunts' - you gotta include

Fuel- Metallica

Gimme fuel
Gimme fire
Gimme that which I desire ..... (pan to the passenger seat)
