Saw the coolest C3 of my life yesterday
Hey guys, I don't usually post much here since I'm not an owner of a Vette yet, but a constant admirer none-the-less. Well, last night I was driving through the downtown section of Nacogdoches when I saw the coolest C3 I've ever seen.
It was a late-model shark coupe from 80-82 years. It was sunset, so I got a great look at the car, but the headlights were also up. Jet black exterior, tan interior. The hood was modified with a cutout for a huge intake manifold. All the lights had been replaced with HID. Chromed sidepipes were sparkling below the doors, and the car looked about as low to the ground as is safe given the hills in this area. Whoever maintained or restored the car did an unreal job. A glance in the rear windshield showed some mirrored t-tops stowed away for the night.
Man, I want that car....

I'm sure guys might be ready to post- "What kind of mods under the hood?" I don't know. The lady driving it said she didn't know much about the car at all. All I know is it smoked me and the C5 ahead of me on a straight line section of freeway. I only wish I had a faster car so I could have seen more of the front of that one.

All it takes is that one image that stays in your head, and you're hooked! It happened to me one fine spring day in '69 in the lobby of the GM building downtown Detroit. I can still see that gold cpe glowing in my minds eye!
What you need to do is stalk that route, find that vette, pull that vette over, pull out your wallet, and presto :chevy !!!!! :D

Re: Saw the coolest C3 of my life yesterday (ROD NOCK)
hah! If I could afford to buy and maintain one, I'd be in already. Unfortunately, as a struggling college student, I'm forced to remain content with my little Honda Accord. It's no Corvette, but it has nice lines and it doesn't break down. Oh yeah, and it cost less than the engine I'd want to put in a vette.
But one day... it will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

I wonder if that's the 'batmobile' I've heard people talk about here in Houston. All I can remember is that it was a sweet somewhat modified black c3. Hmmm....

:iagree: Yeah - started to sound like Merlin for a second - but Merlin was a vert.
I just watched (this morning) the driving_merlin movie that I saved on my HD at home.
Inspirational - for sure.

...yeah. I think this is why they invented those cell phones with digital camera capabilities. That way, you'll never miss another droolworthy shot. Ah well, I'm sure someone, somewhere is enjoying their pic of it.
