Default To shield or not to shield?

I'm getting ready to swap engines this weekend and am wondering if I should re-install the original plug wire shields. They're prettly well rusted and look like crap. Has anyone discarded the wire shields and not have too much radio noise?

If you use a good new wire design they will be sheilded for radio interference and also have high temp boots. I have problems from my MSD box but think a good rewire would help a lot.

I got rid of my shielding years ago and never had a problem with radio interference. I thought they looked junky and through them out.
