Octain Boost Additives????
I search around WI and found out our Fuel stations can not sell anything over 93 at the pumps. The only other higher octain is Racing fuel 103 that you can purchase by putting into a container, this is not a big deal but the $4/gal. is..
I run a lead additive that is suppose to boost your octain but what about all these Octain Booster you see out there, Gimics or worth the $2 a bottle.
A popular one in the stores here is the 104+ Octain Boost. Claims to raise your octain 4 points. is that 93 - 97 or 93 - 93.4?

either way it's not gonna give you an ounce more power unless you advance your timing, unless of course your car was made for it, and you're incorrectly running too low octane. (most ppl dont know that)

Your "search" is flawed, there is a gas station in the middle of Elkhart lk. selling leaded 110 for more like $3.50. Contact ANY local short track guy and he will tell you where to buy race gas. ...redvetracr

Unfortunatly Elk Hart is an hour from me. I was on pit crew for a few years for a short track racer and in the pits it was $4.25 and a local station was $4.10. I also have found 110 for $4.25 and 116 for $6.30.
Just looking for a little octain with out killing the pocket book. 93 is working, but more would be better.

Unless you go to racing fuel, the only octane rating higher than 93 is Sunoco Ultra, rated at 94.
A lead additive doesn't necessarily raise the octane rating, it just adds lead (which is a lubricant) to the gas. Back in 1969 when you car was built all gasolines contained lead, and they ranged in octane from about 85 to 103.

Why do you need more? It's better in the long run to fix the motor and make more power on less octane. That's what I did!
I've seen test articles and Moroso 104+ and NOX brands really worked on a dyno test mule motor.
