My 75 convertible has a Pioneer am-fm-cassette made for the 68-76 dash bezel. I am thinking of returning it to the stock am-fm-stereo.

Stock, but it works like crap. Don't listen much to the radio in the Vette. Just the sing of the motor and the breeze through my hair (whats left of it).

My bezel was cracked, so I cut it for a DIN housing and put a Blaupunkt Santa Monica CD/radio in it. Love it.

I have stock in the dash for looks and an aftermarket hidden in the rear compartment (controlled by a wired remote) for sound. Works well.

I put the stock delco back in .. A kenwood (custom auto sound came out) The stock radio is much better sound wise, just not a powerful. The kenwood in un-modified form is $89. It will not fit 68-76 but that's what custom autosound starts with. What a piece of garbage! :rant:

I bought a used Bezel and slapped in an Alpine C.D. /MP3 player that rocks ......Can't believe how I went without it. Has to be loud .......to hear it over the 40's..This way I have the original working AM/FM and the UnCut original bezel if I want to go back stock though......That would NEVER happen :D

My dash had already been chopped to accept a DIN stereo, so i stuck with that size.

Just bought a new Sony CD player that i thought looked pretty funky & suited the dash (.... or am i seriously misguided?? :D )

I had already fitted beefier 6x9s, plus some kicker subs and a little kenwood amp tucked behind the battery.

... the sound is pretty cool too! :thumbs:

I have a Sony Explode. The face changes 6 different colors, but I usually keep it red to match my interior. And it sounds great!!

Yeah, mines an Explod (not exactly sure what this means though??!!) too.... though only with red lighting.

...... though i had previously changed all my dash illumination to red, so now it matches! :D

I don't know what kind of stereo I have, but it sounds like a '71 Chevy with blown speakers.......so I must have a stock one, eh? :)

Where did you get the cool shifter ****? I've been looking for something "old school" like an 8 ball. Everything I find now seems to mount with cheesy little plastic bushings and a set screw.

I put in a brand new Panasonic CQ-DP133U radio/CD player. Its a cheap model that I got on sale. I like the colour of the blue and white backlit LCD, at night it lights up my whole interior with a blue glow which is kinda cool. What I don't like is when it plays CDs it starts about 2 seconds into every track. I also wish I bought a unit that plays MP3s.

AM FM CASSET U.S.A. Sound #5. Fit right in without cutting, but sounds like the 9 transistor radios of the 1960's. I hardly listen anyway....

I have a Blaupunkt 180 Watts CD Radio.. However - I don't use it because - even if I put the volume to the max - I can hardly here it because the car is too loud (Open Sidepipes)

Aftermarket, AM/FM/Cassette. Music I find only gets in the way of listning to the car. Once I'm tired of listning to the car then I'll add some serious power to the audio system.

The same as yours Ed. A Pioneer am-fm-cassette. I think most of these vettes that have had multiple owners, have the bezel cut for aftermkt radios.
I'm staying somewhat vintage here, as I also have an old 'LearJet' e.q./amp pushing the jams thru some Pioneer speakers. Actually sounds great! :cool:
