Default MSD vacuum / mechanical ??

Since there are two MSD tach drives available for the 'Vettes I was wondering which was the best set-up. This would be for normal street & occasional strip driving.

It looks as though both versions offer adjustable mechanical advance. On the "corvette" specific unit with the vacuum I am unsure if it (meaning the vacuum advance) is adjustable or not.

MSD # 8571 tach drive w/o vacuum

MSD # 8572 tach drive w/vacuum (corvette specific)

Lastly, do these units have the appropriate "hardened gear" that Chevy wants when you use their hyd. roller cammed crate motors? It's hard to tell from the pix, but it certainly doesn't look like brass or bronze thats for sure.

Thanks!!
