Drove the 73 with the 396 today for the first time!
It's not quite quite done yet, but I drove it around a bit today and I LOVE it. I didn't really wind it out or anything, but it has PUNCH with the RV cam and double pumper... sounds pretty good too! With my hood off, and big shiny air cleaner sticking up there on top of lots of shiny engine in a nice new black engine compartment I was getting some looks too. I've got a Torker II sitting in the garage (thanks Dad!) so the hood will become once again a permenant addition to the car. On the still-to-do list is the fan relay/thermostat, the intake/hood, and the DRAGSTRIP! I'll have some pics coming as soon as I finish this roll... I'm excited!!! :steering:

 I have a peppy SB, but it sounds like you have the right ticket for the right car. Not too big, and not too little. I bet it sounds great! The only down side here is those darn stress cracks. If you decide to get in some time trials, I as many here, would be interested in the results.
