Default 70's features

Since I'm looking for a 70 -77 model coupe, I have noticed some features that I thought where kind of neat. I know most people here go for performance and HP, but I've had my share of hot rod days and now I'm a crusier, although some would say that there are better curisers then a vette, I also want to look good for the ladies. Anyhoo, back to the topic.

I would like to know what 70's model features that you liked best, although there really isn't much difference between the 70-73 and the 74- 77 models.

I liked the 70,71 optic fiber waring lamps, thought that was pretty neat. Liked the 70-72 removeable rear window, and the wiper grill that hide the wiper was a good feature.

On my old 68, ignition lock was on the dash, gave it that classic look. I guess that's why I like these feature because my 68 had them all and brings back memories of the good old day when I was younger and care free.

68 has all of those including the fiber optic.

Don't forget cowl induction. And the spare battery behind the driver's seat.

I'm joking about the spare.

I like the updated seats in the '78 (don't remember if it's the SA or Pace Car that had the upadeted seats) through '82 seats. I've always liked the L-82 intake and valve covers. I like the '82 collector edition interior, and also the liftable back hatch glass. Like the '68 - '77 back glass better than the later C3's.

I hate the 85mph speedo though.

Forget about the battery behind the set. Now that was a real safety feature.

Yea, I disliked the 85mph speedo to, for some reason the 160 just looked fast.

Features? How about a lack of features. Less is more. No PS, no PB, no AC, no PL or PW and a 4 speed.....now that's a cruiser!

I'd go 74 or older for the REAL features:
BBC and sidepipes without bending the laws.
73 or older for some chrome on the bumpers (looks best w/black paint).
Most everything else will bolt-up/on up to 77 - including removable rear window.
I plan to get a fiber-optic setup from a late model Buick or Caddy.
I have the fiberoptics (stock) on my 89 Park Ave - and love 'em !

Good luck deciding - and shopping.

Huge difference !!!!
The 72's were the last of the chrome bumpers!! 73's only had a chrome bumper on the rear!
