Bill Mitchell crate motors
Has anyone had any experience with this brand?
Their prices are very competitive with what GM offers for the big blocks.
They come with a 2 year warranty and a new Merlin block, forged internals, etc. Perhaps not a roller cam on lower end models I guess.
I am continuing to research engine options.

Re: Bill Mitchell crate motors (marky mark)
A few forum members have AR racing motors in there cars and are very pleased with them. They are very reasonably priced. I don't have a link, but they always have a couple ebay auctions going.
I just spent a small fortune getting my BB rebuilt. If I were to do it over again I would seriously consider a crate, and AR would be the first people I would call.

I replaced my engine last year and got a GM Goodwrench crate engine from SDPC (Scoggin Dickey). You can find them at http://www.sdpc2000.com

Re: Bill Mitchell crate motors (marky mark)
I went down to Jim Pace, bought the 502 bare block, bought the internal components that I wanted, assembled the whole pile, and wound up with 533 cubes. cost me little more than 4200 for the short block, included in that price was balancing, and all machine work. Downside to this there is no guarantee...but so what, you take your time, get quality components, assemble the engine right, keep it clean, and the motor will live.

When dreaming about more power, I visit this site. http://www.badasscars.com/chevsb.html.
However, I'd probably try AR first for dollar HP ratio.

Cappy has a Bill Mitchell engine and he ran 11.92 or so with it..
Great engines.. but a little pricey.. My 383/465 engine was built by AR Racing for a fraction of the price...
