78 Pace Car owners, tranny pan question.......
What color is the transmission pan on your car...I have the orginal and want to repaint it, when I took it off many years back I forgot what color it was. Now I want to take the leaky chrome one off and put the orginal one back on, but I need to repaint the old one..... Ughhhhhhh...

I hate when that happens: You might get an answer tonight, I think everyone is out driving or working on their Vettes.
The only reason I'm on the Forum and not driving is because, mine is a daily driver, so I can drive it to work tomorrow if I want, and I went on a 130 mile cruise with about 40 other Vettes yesterday. It ran hot so I'm here to psych myself up to get out in the 95 degree heat to flush the system.
My pan is just greyish silver metal color. But I've got a 79 with a TH350. I don't know if anything different was done to the 78 PC.

Time for the NCRS Judging Manual. too bad I don't have one!
Anyway, I just painted mine with Eastwood's Aluma-Blast. You can just check it out in the pic below. Is it correct, probably not, but it looks good to me.

I have a Pace Car. My Pace Car does not have the original transmission. :D
What I can say is there is no color difference between a PC and a regular 78, so anyone with a 78 should be able to answer that question.
I'd go so far as to say that any vette that came stock with TH-350 should have the same color tranny pan.
If I had to guess, I would bet that the tranny is either metal colored or black.
