Default '75 Luggage Rack

I'd like to replace the luggage rack on my '75. How is it fastened? Are the bolts under the rear deck that are going to fall off when the screws are removed?

Thanks!

It shouldn't be like that. They should be anchor nuts. That is, the nut is attached to a rubber tube that expands as the bolt pulls on it. So, both the bolt and the "nut" are removed from the outside. When you pull the bolt and remove the brace & washer, you should see what looks like a rubber washer against the body surface. That will be the top of the anchor bolt (keeps it from falling down the hole). Just pull it out and there's your anchor nut.

:iagree: . Thats the way it SHOULD be, but I had to use a couple toggle bolts also when I replaced mine on my '76. Really not a big deal to change.
