Does anyone know where I can get a 165 MPh speedometer, and a 8500 RPM tach for my 1980 vette?
Thanks, CV

I just want to watch when you get to use them :D

My digitals do 300mph and 9900rpm. There are some silly laws of physics that prevent me from using their full potential.

I am not aware of a strictly bolt in unit that goes to 165. Most late 79-82 owners get the 78 140 unit. Digital like the previous poster would be your best bet.

Try http://www.redlineg.com if you want an econical upgrade to that speedo you have. I think they are $50-$60.
I want one soon, when I get my 80 back from the damn shop getting bodywork and paint (for months). I have new trans, 425hp engine, new suspension, etc, etc, etc and it is still sittin at Corvettes West waiting for completion ....2 more weeks....2 more weeks. AAHHHH!

Theirs are only 140 MPH and are the '78 factory faces.

Yet they are inexpensive and a heck of a nice bunch. Jim

I purchased my 165 MPH speedometer shortly after buying my car in 1995. Eckler's sells them and they list for $149.99, item # 42720. Their phone number is 1-800-327-4868. They just bolt right in and look completely stock. No modifications. Sorry, I don't know where you can find the tach you're looking for. Hope this helps.

Cool man you need to go back and look, they were more than that and you had to supply the Speedo to be converted. I got this one through Ecklers and I know that they do not sell converted speedometers for that price.

Ecklers sends your speedometer to Rodgers and has them converted. Mine even has Rodgers stickers onthe back of it. JIM :yesnod:

You're right! I went and looked in a recent Eckler's catalog and it was just as you said. However, I purchased mine 7 or 8 years ago and finding the old receipt, I paid $199.99 for it already converted. I still have my original speedometer in the box it came in. Sorry if this caused anyone problems.

Hi Jim,
I sent the payment for the tach, speedo, and housing last week, and my computer has been down until today. Let me know when you receive it.
Thanks, Joey
