How to remove the front spings?
I need to lift up my front end an inch to qualify for club rego. Is there an easy way to remove springs or do i have to pull the control arms out?

Car on blocks, jack under lower a-arm. Un bolt spindle backing plate from top or bottom ball joint. Secure coil so it will not go flying. Lower jack.
Thats the quick version. :seeya

randy814u. I do a number of springs each year and I have never had a problem with a spring flying. I just lower the lower A arm with my 3 ton floor jack and the spring falls out.

The aforementioned works, but if you have the stock base suspension (10 coil?) you will need a spring compressor. That sucker WILL pop out on you. Yuck.

Re: How to remove the front spings? (Pacin'California)
About 2 or 3 weeks ago I pulled a set of long travel morosso springs and installed a set of 460 springs, test drove the 460 springs then switched back to the long travel morrosso springs. All in one day.
I never had a problem with just dropping the lower A arm and letting the long morrosso springs slide out. They are almost 16 inches long and never popped out even without a spring compressor.
I have done 8 front spring changes on my vet so far without ever using a spring compressor of any type for removeing the old springs.

I tooo have done it enough I can do both sides between 1-2 hours and be out on a test drive. You kinda get the hang of it after a while. I have never used a spring compressor but it sure doesn't hurt.
I removed the caliper here but you don't have to if you pop the lower ball joint instead of the upper.
A little pickle fork action. LEave the nut on, but loose to catch the spindle when it pops loose.
Jack underneath the lower control arm, with a little pressure on it. Take the ball joint nut off, lower down carefully. I ussually get in front of the car and do it so if it pops out I'm not in the way. :D
MAke sure when putting the replacement in that it is sitting correctly in the cup and it's in the correct side up.
Reverse and test drive.
