Default History of your vette

I recently purchased a 73 conv 4spd 454 that has had some body mods (mako shark) :U The engine, trany and drive train # all match so I would like to bring this back to the way she was ment to be some day. Is there any where I can find out what the original equpment/options was on this car when it was original purchased?

I only know of the tank sticker as to what was installed from the factory. I'm not sure if there is any other way. There might be but I doubt it.

Check with your DMV and see if they provide previous title information (VA doesn't anymore  ), but you may be able to get some info from previous owners.

Oh, while the tank is the usual place for the RPO sticker, I've read that it's been found behind the driver's side dash, under the seat, and other places that I can't remember right now.

Oh, and Congrats on the purchase  and Welcome :seeya

Some of the Mako shark mods were pretty cool, and pretty expensive. Give us pics man, let us see for ourself! :yesnod: Baldwin Motion did some of the conversions, you may want to see if you can find out who did the conversion and when it was done before you undo everything.

Replacing all of the body is one large task too, why'd you buy a Mako shark if you wanted a regular Vette?

Why did I buy a Mako shark? Well I almost didn't. I saw an ad for a 73 conv in the paper for 5500. Went and looked at it, wrote down all the numbers, the car wasn't drivable b/c the gas was seven years old, nearly all the vacum lines were cut and plugged, choke wired open, so I shied away from it and walked away. That afternoon I realized how rare a big block 4spd conv with matching numbers is, and offered him 5200. we agreed on 5300. So I figured I can live with the mako front end and flars for that price. Cleaned out the gas tank and she fired right up :hurray:
