Installing new plug wires on an 82...
Am I correct in the fact that you have to unbolt the motor mounts to install new wires for 1-4? What a bi#$@, do you put them back that way?

I just pull the boots of the ends and slip the wire through between the block and the mount. After its through, slide the boots back on.
Good luck and have fun (that is truly a crappy job).

Ya think they have enough heat shields covering the wires? Got the wires through after two hours. I’ll tackle the shields tomorrow.

Skyhigh,
Have you got a digital camera? If you have, could you post a pic of the wires in the area of the d.side engine mount?? (I've got a few "issues" with the way mine are routed).

that wiring is such a major pita, I just routed mine besides the covers, much easier. With my new engine I ran them under the manifolds but there's a lot more room than with the stock setup.
