Any one have a copy of VETTE mag. Jan. 03? It may have a story of side exhaust system installation and dyno test of that, which shows HP improvement. If so, can you scan it and send it to me?

Horse Power improvment? Most be a stock car going with headers and side exhaust.

My car has the original 165HP whimpy motor in it, which as far as I can tell has not been rebuilt. The only mod was side exhaust, the ram horn manifolds are still there. Also, the distributor is rusted a little, so the mechanical advance is not working as well as it should...I figure I'm losing about 20-30 horses because of it. But, even with that the side exhaust got me a RWHP rating of 203 as listed in my sig. This would put the BHP at around 235 - 250, almost as powerfull as an L82 that has stock exhaust. I think exhaust conversion to true dual chambered pipes is the most HP/$ modification that you can do. Headers would provide more improvement, perhaps another 30 horses, but nothing like the 80 horses the sidepipes will give you.
