Circuit breakers instead of fuses?
The combination of the inaccessibility of the fuse panel, and the
temporary condition :mad that is popping fuses led me to see
these in autozone, a circuit breaker that opens at the current limit
and automatically resets itself.
Anyone try these?
I would have bought one, but the 'zone wanted $5 for one.
Fuses are expensive enough (notice there is really no price break
on the big collections of fuses) and these are too much too!

Re: Circuit breakers instead of fuses? (adam)
why don't you figure out what is causing the fuses to blow in the first place? :skep:
[edit] also circuit breakers are bad cause they're not exact, they might blow higher or lower than their rating. stick to fuses.

Going to be checking the wiring later for sure..
FWIW, breakers and fuses both blow over their rated amperage. The speed at
which they trip/pop is based on the current flow and the time. The greater the
current, the faster the trip time.

I've used them. They can very handy. :yesnod: Del City has them for about half the AZ price but you need to buy a minimum $25.00 worth of stuff to make an order.

Bought some circuit breakers for round fuses a long time ago when I saw them.
Carry in the Vette, have not needed.
Seems did find a car w/ a short to try them. Worked as you expect. Seems there was a slight movement of the voltmeter when it went off & on.
Since the fuse blowing is the sympton & not the problem it alerts you to the problem so it can be fixed.
What circuit is failing & do you have wiring diagrams?

Just got back from my jobber , the plugin fuses were 8.60 for 120 assorted fuses . The circuit breakers were in the 8.00 each range .

Wow!! Del City (delcity.net) $1.87 for snap in to replace round glass fuses and $2.63 to replace ATC style fuses. Just have to order $25.00 worth of stuff from them. :( Kragen only gets $4.00 for them.

Re: Circuit breakers instead of fuses? (Ganey)
AC circuit is burning up fuses...
Put in new blower motor - it does fine without the AC on. I suspect
the compressor may need some work. It puts quite a load on the engine.
I had a short on the ground for that (and other circuits) Now that I fixed it, I
start popping fuses. I've got the circuit diagrams so its just time to figure out
the problem...
Thanks.
