I am still not able to get rid of the wheelspin unless I hit it out of idle. If I had some real rubber, I could load up the 2600 stall and get hopefully a 5.5-5.6.

I am going to try to get it lower before I play with the setup.

BTW, not enough room for a full 1/4 run.:(

355, flat-top pistons, L79 cam, rejetted q-jet, ported/polished/decked heads, 2.02/1.60s, Edelbrock Performer, headers/sidepipes (no cats), B&M, 3.55s, 2600 stall.

Also, of course, no pollution junk and free flow air filter (Edelbrock honeycomb). :thumbs:

Reading the mods its really not much of an L-48 anymore. More along the lines of a 350/350 L-79

How will G-Tech know you are going 60 MPG if it doesn't know the weight of the car?

Doesn't it just calculate speed by measuring G's vs weight of the car and time?

I think it's because it knows the weight of it's own internal accelerometer. From the G-Tech web page:

How does it work?
The heart of the G-TECH/Pro is a precision silicon accelerometer. An accelerometer is a sensor that measures acceleration, also known as G-Force. G-Force is what's keeping you in your seat as you are reading these words and if it wasn't for the seat you would be accelerating to the ground at 1G (32 feet per second per second).

G-TECH/Pro measures your speed and distance traveled by integrating acceleration over time. Basically, if you know how fast you are accelerating for a certain time period you'll know how much your speed has changed after that time period. So, if you start of from zero speed then you'll know what your speed is after every time period. These time periods are very small (2.5 milliseconds) and that's how G-TECH/Pro maintains its accuracy.

Distance is measured in the same fashion, if you know how fast you are going for a certain time period you will know what is the distance traveled during that time period.

G-TECH/Pro also measures delivered Horsepower, sometimes called Rear Wheel Horsepower. This horsepower includes the loss of power through the drivetrain which is usually 10-15%. The formula for Horsepower is speed times acceleration times the weight of the vehicle.

well i couldnt wait for the weekend....

i only got a chance for two 0-60's...both times i eased into the clutch..havent dumped it yet..first was 5.08 and second was 5.02...got a bit of spinning on each start...

i wanted to try a 1/4 so i pulled onto the highway. at the bottom of the ramp the were no cars behind me so i pulled to the side..i let a bunch of cars go by then hit it...wheels spin again, went through the gears but ran out of room..i caught up the the cars i let go by....i didnt think a 1/4 was that long :confused:

anyway, i had to hit the brakes but still got a 13.32 @ 109 mph....

gotta find some good roads with lots of room...

Those are great results Mike for your 1st time running. I still have no power to my lighter so can only run the vette and the Probe. You will really like going to a track then and your results will be very impressive. :thumbs:
