Bra or no Bra ?
Wow I bet this will get alot of hits. I have been thinking about getting a bra for my 77. I was wondering if I could get some Pros and Cons from the people out ther who have used them? I have a friend that swears that he will never again own one on any of his vehicles.

I had one on my firebird one time and at highway speeds it started flapping a little. When I got home I took it off and there were these little cratches in the piant where it had rubbed. :mad I will never use one again.

I don't really love them but am using one until I can paint/repair the nose on the old girl. I found this mini bra and am actually Ok with it. It doesn't look that bad to me (for now) and I haven't had any "flapping" problems.

I find that most people that have them have cracked or screwed up front ends....If that is the case they make a nice cover up

:iagree: They do more harm than good if your front end is in good shape. Like mentioned previously, they scratch paint.

I would only put a bra on my car if I didn't care about the paint.
If I didn't care about the paint, what the point of the bra? :banghead:

I have a cracked AND screwed up front end - and I won't get one. Have you seen the bras for the C3's? That mini bra above looks good, but the full bras have these huge freaky lookin covers for the headlights that look like an afterthought. If someone could come up with one that wrapped around the headlights instead of laying on top of them, I think they would look fine.
Oh yah... they scratch your paint no matter what you do. :smash:

Bras are for women with oversized breastesis. :D
No cars and most women should not have them.

Only if it's a manbro :D
Ran one on my camero for years, but it rubs the paint. Also stuff get under it and then it really rubs/removes the paint. More difficult to wash car and dry, you have to try and get all the water out from under it. If you don't water will run back up the hood while you drive it.
My recommendation is to only get it if you think it will make your car look better. Personnally don't like them on a vet.

I will never use a bra. I feel that the reason for wearing a bra is to protect the paint. Why protect the paint with something that will hide the paint that you wish to protect? Why have protected paint if nobody will see it? Also, as pointed out the bras will actually harm the paint.
In my opinion you need to start building up your Zaino protection. Zaino will not only look great, but will protect the paint from some scratches. It won't protect it against rock chips like a bra will, but for rock chips there is touch-up paint and rubbing compound followed by Zaino to keep the surface flawless. Or, if you really want to do it right keep like 1/2 gallon of the paint that is on the car, spray gun, compressor, and some bondo fiberglass resein so you can fill in the chip with a little bondo and hit it with some base then apply some rubbing compound to blend it in and shoot some clear over it.

Don't use a bra unless you're covering up damage. They are ugly and a royal pain in the rear. I know, I have one and it is (or was) covering up a very broken front bumper. The things that go over the lights are a real joke. I had to tie them down so I could use my lights at freeway speeds or they would come loose and flap over the head lights... What a joke!
