Default Burning Smell

I recently started smelling something burning in the cockpit while at idle. Initially I thought it was the leaky water pump. I replaced it and the smell is still there. With the exception of smelling sweet, in is very similar to burning coolant. Temps are as they should be, and all fluid levels are fine with the exception of power steering. I have yet to fix an ongoing leak with it. While I'm on that subject, fluid leaks out of the pump within one day of driving. I'm assuming the hoses are bad (never been replaced). I simply hate to spend $50 on a hose kit and find out other components are needed (cheaper to by a kit tht comes with hoses). Anyone else experience this problem?

Check the carpeting on the passenger side, what you have described sounds like the heater core is leaking.

I have a firebird that likes to burn tranny fluid. You wouldn't think you could smell it inside the car but it comes up through the shifter. But as stated above, check the heater core.

I don't see the problem. If you're like me, you don't have an engine in the car, or an interior to get in your way:D Shouldn't be much more than 5 minutes work, I'll let you all know if I'm wrong as I'm going to pull mine and at least reseal around it, if not just throw it in the back of the garage to never again return...
