Engine compartment Flames
Well I did it, I flamed the engine compartment.
It was a big F-in job, tho I think it turned out OK for my first flame job.
The flames do look a little ameturish, but WTF they are mine :D
Here are links to the pics for you dialup people, and the finished product...
Be nice!
OTBW, I'm paying someone to pinstripe it, I spent 4 hours trying and it looked like a 2 year old ADD patient did it :U So pinstriping will be done thursday.

Re: Engine compartment Flames (427V8)
That looks pretty good for your first flame job. Now you need to get some vavle covers to match. Someone here has flamed valve covers that look really good, I cant remember who it is though.

tshort has some.
Here is a pic I ripped of his site, if you painted them, those covers would look good in your car.

I like it . It's what make you , you. That had to be real hard with the motor still in place . I know I painted mine with the motor and trans out of the car. How well did the paint booth work? :cool:

Are you thinking that the aluminum valve covers should be painted? Like completely or just flames??
vinceVette;
Well it truely sucked having the engine in the car, near impossible to get the spray gun in the corners :mad
Layiing out the flames was a real contortionist job, my back still hurts
The paint booth protected my garage from overspray but it was too close to the painted surface, paint doesn't stick to plastic so I had a bunch of little flecks of paint fall off every time I touched the plastic :U
It would have been much better to hang the plastic 12" further from the car.
