There is a company that is selling C4 conversions for them, but I don't recall who it is. Do a Google search and I'm sure you'll find it!

I believe there was an individual that had a conversion kit, and was selling them. You could do a search, or look for the recent thread on birdcage replacement. Look for the posters home page. On the gentleman's website there was some information. I've never used them or seen them, so I can't comment on quality and functionality. Can't post a link as I don't want to conflict with the supporting vendor rules. I do think the vacuum system can be made to work well, if you make sure the parts are in functioning condition and do some logical troubleshooting. I think there is even a book about them.

The man with the lights is Chris. His forum name is 69MyWay. Also look at groovyjay. I think he has a set up like this with some video footage that he shot. They work great.

Sheeesh... have you seen that video?? When the lights go up, it sounds like a gun went off!! It looks liek they are using the same assist springs for the vacuum system, but they shouldn't be needed for the electrical system. The motor does all the work.... those lights int he video REALLY fly up!! BANG!! There has to be a quieter way...with a less violent action. :banghead:

69myway/Chris just down the street from me here has a goodly amount of parts being made recently, and is ready to ship the needed units...the ones he showed ME did not make any super loud noises...not any much louder than the stock units on any generation vette....

I would do that conversion in a heartbeat IF I still have the parts to my setup, but I don't....so I will someday redo the front end with much better lighting setup....Make the holes MUCH smaller, and sleeker looking with modern bulbs...

Yep, he keeps popping up with these kinds of statements... I can see a mistake here or there, but I'm starting to think someone should shove a cork in it...
