Default 17" Billet Ralley Wheels

Thinking of going with these on the rear. Any potential fitment problems?? I've already relocated my parking brake bracket. Tire size??

"Billet Chevy Style Rallye 17x9 1/2 (fits Classic Chevy Cars) - 5x4 3/4 single bolt circle, 5 backspacing, 3.188 center bore, fully polished aluminum. This wheel is built for rear wheel drive cars & trucks. "

Would these tires work??? "285/40ZR17 g-Force T/A KDW Overall Diameter 26.0", Cross Section of 11.4" Unidirectional racing-influenced tread design delivers exceptional wet or dry traction and tremendous cornering force. "

The tires will work, butthey are 1" smaller diameter than stock. If you're at stock ride height your wheel-wells will look empty. If the car is lowered it looks fine.

Lowered slightly. Should I be shooting for a 27" diameter wheel/tire combo??

But how about the wheels/tire combo, will it "fit" on the rear.

And just a thought....will it fit on the front too??

Lets see some details on those rims. I love my ralley's but want 17" rims but also would like to reduce unsprung weight by using aluminum. I've seen the 17" steel ralleys and love them but would prefer alum.

Well, that's personal taste/preference. I went with 27" by going to a 255/50-17, but others like the 26" 285/40-17 better.

Tires with diameter smaller thatn OE 27" will give a false speedometer reading. Also your engine will turn more RPM for a given speed.

So the wheel/tire combo of 285/40/17 with a 9.5"wheel with 5" backspace will fit on all four corners??? If so, my order is going in! Free mounting and balancing!!! What do you think??

Guys this will be my last purchase to finish the Vette. I have been planning on these for over a year.

The Aluminum Billet Rallys are made by Wheel Vintiques in CA. Check-out their web-site. They also have a set for auction on ebay

They do have custom back-spacing available from the manufactorer. So if that is a need it is possible to get them that way.

This item has been listed in my signature for quite sometime. I had planned on already ordering them. It might be a good aidea to see if we could do a group purchse on them, I could go ahead and buy a set now if needed.

Another idea is that Summit carries these wheels and has 10% off at this time. See what you would like to do and let me know. JIM
