My set-up like this had some crumbling foam gasket material right at the door flapper, so I removed the whole assembly. It doesnt seem to have any adverse affect the drivablility whatsoever, so Ill keep it removed.

Thanks! That is just what I'm looking for. I'm trying to figure out how difficult it would be to grab air from over the radiator shroud against the hood for my LS1 setup.
