Default Need opinions on a Moroso BB "Kicked Out" oil pan.

I know a couple guys guys here are running this pan and was curious which one will clear the crossmember. Also did you oder anything else to accomapy it such as a windage tray; oil pan baffle; or crank scraper ?

Corey,

I believe that's the same pan I'm running now. I swapped it over the stocker primarily to gain precious ground clearance. I did not get a crank scraper or windage tray, but did have to get the oil pump pickup to work with this pan.

Is that the 6QT? I think that's the one I'm using. Here's some pics, it has a trap door & integral windage tray. Bence is using it too. I just need to find out which dipstick to use.

Looks like an updated version of the one I've had for about 15 years. Mine did not include the diamond scraper type tray but it does have baffles. That one also looks a little different in the area in front of sump, mine is flat and doesn't have that little "kickup" in it.

If it's a 6 qt (7 w/filter) it will work fine. It uses a stock dipstick. Be aware that using a HV pump requires some pretty good capacity if you don't use oil restrictors. You need to keep it FULL. I tried some tests on the engine stand and found that with 5 qts it would start losing pressure after steady state 3000 rpm running for a few minutes. 6 qts was pretty decent but on the edge. 7 qts was fine. No problem with pan, just need to make sure oil drains back well.

I would love to find a 10 qt one that cleared everything too!

Does the pan allow the stock oil pick up (tube) with my HV oil pump? Any part number so I can be certain it's the right one?

Thanks again fellas

I bought the Moroso pickup that matched the pan. I'd recommend it----it has a tab which allows you to bolt it to the pump eliminating the need to weld the pickup to the pump. It also gives good clearance to the bottom of the pan, 3/8" I think it was.

From Jeg's cat: pan---710-20403...$228.99 pickup--710-24440...$31.99

You can checkout Summit, since they have the 10% discount till 8-7. I think the item # would be something like MOR-20403 etc..

I got one for small block looks the same as that no windage tray or crank scraper does have a trap door to keep oil in the bottom, 7qt capacity plus filter.

Interestingly enough I did not think about the dip stick, can you use the stock dipstick ? :D

Len, I have a Gen V so I guess the #20411 should suffice?
