Toronto Yonge Street cruise - soon?
Thinking of trying to put together a Yonge Street cruise for either August 2nd (3rd) or 9th (10th).
The concept would be a brief get-together at a meeting spot somewhere north of the 401, cruise all the way down Yonge Street to someplace we can eat. Start time would aim for either a late lunch at the termination point, or supper.
This weekend, I'll try to scout some locations for the downtown eating spot, where we can have some suitable parking.
Any preferences on the date or start time? Let me know by IM, or post it here.

Can't do 2nd or 3rd. But definitely in for 9/10. Wife really wants to go for a cruise since she missed the Poker Run. :steering:

Either date (due to having my kids for a one week summer vacation) requires what you might call a "workaround". Having said that, I'll do my best to work with either weekend. Would like to at least make one of these events this summer!!

Thanks for the IM, that weekend is open for me. Personally, I'd prefer a Saturday run. :steering:

I think the 9th maybe a better day, I have plans for the long weekend. Not to be a complete Nerd, but perhaps for those that are using MS Outlook could perhaps enter events into thier calenders then invite attendees so that we all have it in all of our Outlook calenders, just a thought.

Looks like a consensus is building around August 9th.
Maybe you north-of-the-401 guys can think of a good location for the starting point. Any ideas?

Hey. Well you "are" a nerd.. But I will be just a much of one. That is how I keep track... I even have an exchagne server at home... If we really wanted to get fancy, I could rig up a community calendar for us. :-)

Hey I have an exchange server runnin' to, fellow Nerdian. That would be a great idea, getting a community calendar.
Also, I just had a brain fart, why don't we start in downtown Toronto, and end up in say, Aurora? Much better chance of having parking. And on Saturday evenings, they have a car show there, its actually on the other side of the plaza, sponsored by a store called Boys Toys, or something like that. And for those that are not familair with St. Andrews Village, where this would all take place, it is a very nice plaza, set in an olde english style. I've been to that show before, ending up to be the only 'Vette many times.

Sat Aug.09 ending in Aurora is OK for me. There is also an East Side Mario a bit further North on the East side of Yonge street.
