Default Quiz-Check your carb jet math

You want to increase the flow through a Holley jet #60, .060" by 50%.
Part 1: What is the closest Max Jet?
Part 2: What is the closest Holley Jet #

Please don't post your "work" until after midnight! Thanks!

Matt, I have always used the surface area of the jet orifice to determine gas flow. I don't know if this method is 100% accurate. The surface area actually falls between a 73 and 74 max jet

If you need to change fuel calibration by 50%, you have got something messed up! Drop the wrenches and back away from the carb! :lolg:

For the theoretic flow rate it would be a .070 #69 holley jet. Don't know anyone that uses Maxjets so I don't know the flow rates. ( I do know their Holley to MaxJet conversion chart is not accurate for flow, only area)

I voted for the .090 based only on diameter. I don't know anything about Holley flow rates. I Know in a Qjet you have to worry about the metering rod too and subtract that.

3 things are in play here.
1. the calculated flow rate
2. actual flow done by testing
3. the closest answer given the choices.
i'll give this quiz 1 more day due to the empty classroom :)
