i need to know what the hood vents look like for either of these cars. i have a spare hood i'm in the process of modifying with some heat extraction. i'd like to just be able to buy something already made rather than fabricate something entirely new. i've seen vents on both these cars and think they might work but would like a little more info from someone who owns one.
i need to know: are they separate pieces that i might find at a salvage yard? in other words, can i find them without buying an entire hood?
how do they attatch?
would someone be so kind as to provide some simple measurements?

You can occasionally find those on eBay (the cars themselves), so you might check for detailed pics of one there. That's usually where I go when I want to see a random sampling of any certain car.

i was just at the parts store and got a price for those vents. can you tell me if they are functional?

I think those were non-functional, but functional on the Pontiac GTX. The GTX, not the GTP was a modified 300+ hp model produced here in PA. The GTX had ram-air and functional hood vents.

thanks guys. i was rummaging through a local bone yard earlier this week and found something i think will work just as well. found some scoops used on an early '80s blue oval thundercrap. going to mount them in reverse just past the fender curve and see what happens.
after having looked at the Z34, i've determined those are really the ones i want. wish me luck finding a Z34 with a salvagable hood any time soon. otherwise, i really, really need to want them. they're still in stock at the factory for $100 a piece.
