Another Bird Cage/Body Frame replacement
Some of you may appreciate this.
The 1970 Vette you will see in the link below will be my third Bird Cage replacment.
We are using one from a newer T-top Vette for this car. After I remove the old cage, we will take it to the welding shop to get the parts transfered, blasted, then powder coated.
Then back together again!
Click on my homepage
www.mcspeed.homestead.com
Then click on the 1970 Vette link at the lower left hand corner.
I will be updating as I go.
I am doing some swaping and trading. There is a nice new shinny Richmond six speed now on order as a result of this latest project.....Look for Killer to be cruising with overdrive before the end of the year!

Man, that is about as far down as you can take a C3. I bet you are getting pretty efficient at it after three of them.

That must be a truely awsome feeling to look at the car and know that every inch of the car has been worked on and brought to a "like new" condition. No looking at the car wondering what hidden rust spots lurk underneath... Very  ! I'm quite envious.

UPDATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check out the last couple of photos on the link:
http://mcspeed.homestead.com/Vacation.html
From here, we do some blasting, welding, and powder coating to the birdcage. The donor is a t top car from a 78 or 79. We will cut and weld certain parts from the convertible birdcage over, then coat it.
The frame is already stripped, and at the powder coaters.
If all goes well, in 1 to 2 weeks, I will be putting it back together.
Today I pressure washed and degreased the firewall and other parts.
Not much else to do now but wait.

Wow, what a job that is gonna be. You have got to admire someone that can do this kind of work and you know the outcome is gonna be one fantastic car. Mike Britt is gonna have a nice one in a little while.

Cool another project :) Hoping to see some update pics. Your projects are always inspiring and the pics are a big help (I did the same to my car and boy was it a lot of work to repair the body and firewall)
