watertemp?
I have a 74 corvette and i was wondering what the water temp should be at i know on most cars its around 180 but on my vette it always chills about the 200 mark and i have tried everything i can think of to make it run cooler just wondered if that was how the gauge read or if i have a problem.

Before my 180 thermostat and high volume water pump she would run at over 200 most of the time. Now with it all installed, on a hot day,she runs right at 180..

200 is fine, I wouldn't worry about it. If you have any doubts about the accuracy, you might want to have temp checked with a heat gun.

When I still had the 327 in my '68.. the car ran 170 - 190 degrees with a regular mechanical fan... After installing the 383 - the temps went up to 240 degrees.. so I upgraded the cooling system..
1) pure water with Water Wetter
2) Griffin Radiator with 1 1/4 inch tubes
3) High Flow Water Pump
4) 160 degree Thermostat
5) triple electric fans
After those upgrades - I've never hit 210 degrees - even at the track...
