engine decoding, pls.
Hello
I will check up a 1971 big block convertible vette soon that is for sale.
The VIN is suppost to be identical with the blocks stamped number.
Funny thing is that the seller didn't know about this until I told him where to locate the VIN number and the block's S/N stamp pad.
The suffix he read as T12010PH
Is this correct ? What is it. A LS5 , LS6 or even ZR2.
The car is suppost to have undertaken a full resto 4 year ago.
Unfortunately, no original paperwork seems to be with it as a new VIN number has been given to it when it got registered here in Luxembourg, this due to the non knowledge of the owner of locating the VIN number.
I know it all sounds strange, but over here people are not familiare with US VIN numbers and locations.
What could I offer for it given it's a numbers matching car without any paperwork in fair to good condition ?
Thanks. Gunther

71 suffixes are all 3 letters and all begin with C. The black book does show a CPH as 365 hp 454, manual trans. That would be LS5.

OK, he misread the C .

Will make an apointment and look at it.

On the passenger side block area, just forward the head should be stamped one or two sets of numbers. One of them consisting of ?? S1?????
