GOT REAR ENDED YESTERDAY!
 My god i dont know how some people get a license all the jerk behind me had to do was look. so there i am at a stop light and the light goes green but the guy in front of me does not go but guess what the guy in the big butt suv behind me did :mad. he has insurance so it will get fixed but how could he just plow into me. anyway its just horrible timing since i just ordered an intake manifold on monday and was hoping to put it on some time next week but now my vette is going to be in the shop for a while. just wondering, if the lip of the rear deck is cracked and the left rear of the wheel well is hanging off does the whole thing, like from the doors back get replaced? and does any one have any shop recomondations out in southern cal cause i dont want all the work done only to see where the new and old body panels meet

You would think people could see another car in front of them. Man that bites. I know how you feel. I lost my 79 to the same type of thing. I was setting at a redlight and got rearended. The result was a totalled vette. Every body panel busted somewhere.

I agree... that reeks. Hopefully I never have to go through dealing with insurance companies when it comes to the C-3's. I'm afraid that most will just write them off no matter how much money you have in them based on the few instances I have seen so far. I hate to think of the cuss words that would come out of my mouth if it ever happens.

a friend of mine is a body tech, he bought a 68 chevelle ss when he was a kid and kept it all his life. He finished an entire body off restore of it in 91, then the first time he took it out for a drive some genious in a an old beat up cutlass with no breaks rear ended him. Sadly, it completly totalled the chevelle, as the idiot was going at least 80 when he hit.
The other day i almost rear ended these idiots in a ancient geo. They had no brake lights, and they slammed on the brakes for apparently no reason. I must of came within an inch of rear ending them. The funny thing is if i rear ended them it would be my fault, cause i'd say it was because they had no brake lights; they'd say they dont have brake lights because i rear ended them.

i feel for you. the same thing happened to me several months ago. i was sitting at a stop light, and a little geo prizm rear ended me. done a little over $4K in damage, but it's all fixed now. the prizm like went up under my rear, so it didn't do any body damage. did mess up the plastic back bumper, plus the exhaust got shoved through both rear tires, cracking an exhaust manifold

damn, that sucks. just a thought though. if major body work is going to be required to make it right and your not a major stickler for the 'numbers game', consider an entire rear clip like what's sold in ecklers. the cost of the part is only a little more than all the replacement panels plus there isn't as much fiberglass work involved and you don't need to worry about bonding strips showing in 10 years. just my two cents but i can't verify from experience it would be easier to replace the whole clip. just seems that way to me.

Very important!!!
I work in the car business so I know about this. In the state of Texas and most other states you can go after whats called "depreciated value" against his insurance company. the ins. company will play dumb buty they know what it is.

Sorry to her about the accident. It must be frustrating. No matter how careful you are some one can wreck things for you. I would have to say I notice bad driving more when driving in the vette or on my bike. People roll up to stop at full speed, squeeze the yellows and change lanes at 75 with feathers between you. It is an impatient environment out on the road these days. Good luck on your repairs. :flag
