That's heavy! I weighed mine a few years back. Back then it was an all iron 454, PB, AC. With me in it (160 lbs) + 1/4 tank of gas it was 3520 lbs, or 1598 kg.
Since then I have installed aluminum heads (-66 lbs), ministarter (-10), aluminum waterpump (-7), aluminum intake, radiator and more that I can't remember now. Haven't weighed it, but hope to be in the high 3300's with me in it and right at 3200 without driver.

if the driver stays in the car you might be able to remove the front passenger side tire and still drive fine and save a good 40 lbs. You may need to use a kickstand like a motorbike when you run into the **** store.

don't feel bad: Road and Track tested a 79 L82. Curb weight was 3490. Add driver, gas and cargo and you'll have your weight.
An addtional 290 lbs isn't bad when our dorr stickers say the gross can go to 4122
Of course I'll bet you have WAY LESS rubber on your tires than the new one R&T tested. I deduced that from the posts I've been reading from you and Blood80 :jester

I am curious what mine weighs now. The 1980 was supposed to be lighter than the previous years. I swapped out the crossmember for a '79 version and I know that was about 3 times the weight of the stock 1980 crossmember. Adding dual exhaust with cat's probably didn't help any either.
I have removed the spare tire and holder, but now have larger wheels and tires. I have aluminum heads, intake, and water pump, but I am a pretty big guy so that doesn't help any either.

well, bloodvette weighed his vette, and it came in just under 3500 lbs (1980 vette, fairly stock)
i'm looking for ways to reduce weight on the 79, i'm sure the hood alone weighs 100 lbs

3500 lbs of raw police chasing tire spinning my back hurts suspension Corvette power.
Whooooooooooooooo yeah. I'd like to know the weight of my '80, should be close to stock. And luckily, I weigh 145 lbs. so when I drive I won't be adding too much weight.

if he puts his left foot on the ground it won't help at all, he never uses his brake and therefore his left foot is teeny weeny. His right foot on the other hand is half his body weight. You should see the guy kick a soccer ball.

so... to improve your soccer skills, the preferred training method is just more vette time...wow, soccer is going to be way more popular now!

Re: Holy Smokes, my Car is a beast (isosceles)
Ok! So if I weigh mine now at 115 degrees outside air temp. will it weigh more or less, instead of waiting for the winter and weighing it at say around 40 degrees?????
Might as well take every advantage I can get.
