Strange find in washer fluid resevoir- '76 Stingray
I took the windshield washer fluid resevoir out of the car and heard something rattling inside it. After pulling the fill tube off I found the numbered metal punch outs from the keys. I am guessing that the original owner put them in there for safe keeping, and its not a bad idea, they would always be with the car if you lost your keys. Anyone else find something strange in their car ?

I bought an MGB that had an actual spare key screwed to the inner fender of the car. My 59 pontiac had an old wooden stool, some very old hand painted house for sale signs and a very old first aid kit. 72 corvette had a forsale sign in the door and a pair of specs under the seat.

Back when I worked on C3's in the dealer, an '81 came in one day with a 'terrible rattle' complaint in the pass door. Upon inspection, I found two beer bottles complete with caps in there!

When I was installing speakers in the kick panels of my new Chevy pick up, I found a coffee cup.

I bought my car out of the Knoxville News Sentinel and had to drive approximately 70 miles north of my house to get the car. That was about 4 years ago. This last spring while going through door lock replacement I found a for sale sign with a phone number that was located about 15 miles south of where I live. The guy I bought the car off of said he had had the car for 15 years. I have been tempted to call the number on the for sale sign and ask them about the corvette for sale and see what they say.

I have a friend who found the original window sticker stuck in a sealed tube inside his door of a 69 vet. Also in there was a gas receipt from 1969. Score!

Hell, when I buy a used car, I'm happy if I can find some spare change under the seat. Used car rebate! Score!

Years ago we used to camp at Mosport during F1 and Can-Am race weekends. A guy from NY we used to see would smuggle his stash across the border in the windshield fluid bottle!
Only thing I found in mine was some change and some old papers...

About a week after I bought my 1980, I found a spare key tied to an elastic band and was hanging from the gas filler neck. It was hidden behind the rubber bib, but hanging there if it was ever needed.
I removed it, as we were looking for the door key for my wife's set of keys.

In my C4 I found a really nice pair of wire crimpers under the carpet - could have come from the assembly line but doubt it.
My second story.
When I was in high school we used to rummage through wrecking yards looking for parts (I had a 70 camaro). I would always look inside under seats and in the glove box of fresh cars. Sometimes the wrecker forgot to look and you would find some interesting stuff (one time my friend found a radar detector-score!). Well under the seat of a camaro I found a small brown bag. Opened it up and bam...bunch of dirty panties  uhhh...score...I think. I did have fun chasing my friend through the yard throwing em at him though.

Giant metal serving spoon behind steareo. It was bent in half, I think it was bubba's way of supporting the back end of the crappy steareo he installed.

On top of the usual spare change and loose french fries I found when doing my interior I also found an unopen pack of Big Red. Keep in mind my car sat for 12 years before I got it so the gum was at least that old. My GF dared me to try a piece...It wasn't that bad, just a little crunchy. :p:

Bubba was onto something. The '77 heater controls are a bit fragile. I put a styrofoam block under mine. ;)
I bought a Porsche 911 last year and when I was going through the trunk, I found shreds of red carpet and paper towels. Since the car has tan carpet I thought that was odd. Upon closer examination, I found the shriveled corpse of a mouse. Ewwww.

I didn't find anything in the reservoir, but when I removed the seats to change the seatbelts, I found (on top of many many in&out french fries)
1. Spare change, actually a couple dollars worth all with a rusty/dirty coating (strange for silver plating to rust I thought)
2. Ball point pens galore...
3. A whole bunch, I mean a ton of hair pins and a brush. When I bought the car the license plate frame said "it's not easy being the princess" and the previous owner did tell me that his daughter drove the car but dang she didn't have to leave so much evidence.
I'm just glad I got that stuff out before one of my buddies reached under the seat and pulled out random girl-car stuff lol.
