How many times have you burned yourself on your headers??
5 pretty good burns, my last one is about 1/2 way healed right now, about 1 inch round on my backhand. :banghead:

I'm fine but my inductive pickup for the timing light looks like a war casualty.

Maybe once, but never very bad. The Jet-Hot really cools off pretty quickly, so its not much of an issue. Oh, and I always wear my "Mechanix" gloves when they are hot.....so that could be it... :jester

but the worst burn came from grabbing a pizza pan out of the oven that was in there for 30 minutes at 400F......and yes, I was intoxicated

Never, my headers are wrapped and even after a hard run down the expressways you can brush breifly against them without getting burnt.

OR burn yourself enough times you'll develop a bit of a scab shielding over your hands, just as protective as header wrap.
*note to above, every time i see smoke coming from the hands i say, geez i wish i had mechanix gloves on...

Burned myself 4 times, my wife once, my sister twice, and a magazine editor once- on Hooker side pipe headers. Finally got smart and bought burn shields from JCL. No more 'rosebuds'................

Just minor burns from the headers but I have got some real good ones from the pipes from shifter linkage problems. 4 years and you can still see some of the scars. Jet Hot cools fast but not fast enough I guess.

The second day I had my vette running, I left skin from my leg attached to the showtube !!!! OUCH !!! My girlfriend is only 5 foot tall, so I knew I had to protect her legs. I ordered slotted shields from a Cobra website and solved the problem ---- Not a direct bolt-on, but I think they turned out okay! Rick
