Default Going to Dyno Saturday, Anyone Want to Guess????

A bunch of us are going up Saturday and gonna do the Dyno thing. Is there anything I should be aware of before I go? Anything I should take with me? Also would anyone want to take a guess at what kind of HP/TQ numbers I should see when I get done.
Here is what I am running.
TFS 23 Degree heads
Comp Cams XE262
Comp Cams 1.52 Rockers
Performer Intake
Street Avenger 670Cfm Carb
Shorty Headers with 2 1/2 exhaust
350 .030 over with flat top pistons (4 valve reliefs)

Take a guess and I will post up Saturday evening when I get home.
Thanks for putting your guesses up.

Your heads/intake/carb/headers/displacement are better than mine (mine are all stock) and you have same cam. I pulled 229rwhp and 277rwtq. I'll guess you at about 250rwhp and 300rwtq, presuming a 4 speed, bit less with an auto.

I've heard (but I didn't...) that you should overinflate your rear tires, say to 40 pounds to reduce flexing on the dyno. Other than that, make sure it's tuned the way you want it and let it rip!!

I checked you sig pic - that red bigblock hood is worth 20 RWHP!!

I am pretty ignorant about what all those technical mods do for hp... arent flat top pistons a good thing? I will take a WAG - 270/270 at the rear wheels! :) MJ

It is a 4 speed so should that help some? What should the driveline loss be? It does have all new synth in the tranny and diff. All new ujoints, wheel bearings and new diff.

245rwhp @ 5500rpm
285rwtq @ 3800rpm

And yes, the 4-speed will cost you less HP than an auto. Most like to use 15% driveline loss for an M-20, 21, 22 transmission.

Better make sure we have enough gas the the cars. Yes, what to take? I guess. I'll learn the first time and know what to take next time? :skep:

Eddie, I'm really looking forward to this. Probably be looking for mods afterwards. :)

dyno tips in sig.
that carb won't open fully on the dyno unless you put a real light spring for the test.
with the light spring 300 rwhp
stock spring 250 rwhp

about 240 RWHP and 270 RWTQ. with bigger cam and better intake you could get to 280 RWHP easy. that Performer intake is holding you down.

My car started life off as a 300HP/380TQ motor. I have upgraded or so I thought the cam and heads from stock. I know those are gross numbers but doing the math that would come up to 255HP/323TQ Rear wheels. Is this correct? I would have thought that with the upgrades I should be better than stock. Just curious as to what you guys think on this one.

Thanks for all the input so far. Your numbers are what I was thinking anyway.

Eddie, starting with your base gross ratings, you first have to go to "net", then down to rear wheel. I've seen the math done many times, but basically you can assume somewhere around 2/3 of the gross rating at the tires. I base this on the '71 data which has gross/net ratings (although the % difference is not all the same, so it's not an exact science). My guess is a bone stock 300hp engine would do in the low 200-210's at the tires, a 350hp engine about 225 to 235, yours I figured about 20 more because of your mod's. Just my guess....

Made my 3 runs today at the dyno. I just took the air filter off and went for it. On all three runs I quit at around 5200 rpm cause I just figured it was about over by then and no point in hurting something not broken, right.
The results are

1st run 253.0 Hp and 300.4 Tq
2nd run 243.9 Hp and 295.7 Tq
3Rd run 245.1 Hp and 292.8 Tq

I was well pleased with the outcome. I had a blast and was as nervous as a cat. I was almost shaking from nerves while setting there with my foot planted to the floor. On the third run I stopped just short of 5000. The others look like that I went past 5250 and HP was just peaked and starting to just drop off.
So I made it through, had some fun, got to see what it would do, and now I know where it stands at.
