I'm really bummed. I bought some nice blue glass tops, but...
the passenger side was broken in shipping. :mad It's insured, but I was really looking forward to putting these glass tops on my car. Are there any companies that will replace/match the glass? Thanks!

That's too bad. :nonod: :nonod: There are no places that can get glass for these tops that I am aware of. You would think that with all of the people looking for replacement glass for their t-tops somebody would be producing replacement glass. :mad I think thompson or whoever it is that makes the astro top will put some kind of acrylic on your tops. I believe Bseery has a set. Don't quote me on that, but I remember somebody on here sent theirs in for acrylic glass and were real happy with them, I don't remember exactly who.

are they original blue M1192 ( I think was the code?) If so, no, that glass is no longer manufactured. I've tried to source it as my driver side has a crack.

They're blue M1131. I've found a single on ebay, but I think the seller wants as much as I paid for the set. Apparently, these blue tops are getting pretty rare. They really would have looked good on my car.

I HIGHLY RECOMMED that if you have a pair that you go get another set of broken or cheap t-tops and then send them to Thompson's Astro Tops. I don't recommend the one piece unit they sell, but the replacement T-tops that have the acrylic replacement for glass are excellent. You send them some broken or cheap tops and they replace the glass with acrylic. They are much lighter, won't crack and since they are in factory frames they work the same as the glass tops.
Get a set of those and save the M1131's at home, wrapped in 2 quilts and only bring them out for car shows and pictures.

I too, am in the hunt for a passenger side M1131. They are out there but they are spendy, as everyone who is looking for one knows. I currently have an M1131 on the drivers side and a bronze M89.6 (I believe that is the number) on the passenger side. Someday I hope to get the set to match, too many other little things to fix right now.

Can I buy the trim covers from the inside, once you find a replacement?

Here's one place,

Personally I hate T-tops and never remove the solid panals I have on the car. If it's a convertible fine, if it's a coupe then let it stay a coupe. T-tops are a major PITA. :mad

Re: I'm really bummed. I bought some nice blue glass tops, but... (The_Dude)
I had a drivers side cracked and went to Corvettetops and had excellent service from them . The top was a M-1131 Blue Tint and the price was $895 plus $72 shipping I sent my old top in and they sent me a new one .
The Insurance picked up the tab so I made out pretty good.
Oh Yes I forgot to mention the top I recieved was in excellent condition . Do not know if it was a New top or reconditioned but it was in A-1 Shape.

Hmmm. Sorry to hear about your trouble with your tops. I have a set of M-92A glass tops on my 1978, and I have had trouble getting them fixed too. (frame was separating at one time on passenger side)
I have read about the rarity of certain types of glass tops for C-3's, and I was just wondering what anyone out there could tell me about the M-92A top?
I believe I read somewhere once that only 900 or so of the Corvettes in 1978 had glass tops, does anyone know anything about the veracity of this claim?

I am not sure if he wants them. He is too busy driving to let me know ;) . In any case I have the dilemma of the original poster: I cannot pack them and guarantee safe passage through whatever transport system. So they sit in the basement....useless now to me.
