Check engine light - Help !!!
Recently purchased a 82 CE with low milage. I notice that the "Check Engine Light" seems to come on only when doing highway speed (approximately 60 MPH). Does anybody know what is causing this.

Could be any number of things. One of the first things I always check is the oil. Are you getting good oil pressure at highway speeds?

The check engine light means that something to do with the emissions system has failed. This puts a code in the computer. You can do a quick search on this a pull the code very easily yourself with a paper clip (jumper wire) at the plug near the bottom of the dash. Autozone can read it for you too.
