Looking for a BB cam in the 2K-5Krpm range.
I have a friend with a Mark VI 454 H.O. airboat and is looking for a hydraulic (NON-roller)cam to build power in the 2K-5K range. You can't turn the prop over 5K so that is the rpm limit. I was thinking maybe a CC 262 cam or a LS4 cam?

Depending on the exhaust and compression, it sounds small. The CC XE262 starts at about 1400 rpm.
I would go to at least a 268 or the 270.

I have the Comp XE 256 in the 454 in my Suburban. Makes excellent power up to 5K RPM, lot's of low end torque. I would think the XE 256 or XE 262 would be best. The XE268 would make more power above 5000 RPM but you give up a little low end grunt.
