1st of all, WELCOME to the Forum!!! All the answers you seek can be found here. Rear end ratios can be determined by going to smokemup.com, if your tach and speedo are close to accurate. As far as stock L-48 0-60 and qtr mile times go, I dont think anybody cares, because they would be s l o w. Not a knock on you or your car Sir, as my '76 is a former L-48, b4 I warmed it up. Just hang around here and absorb knowledge......You'll be glad you did!

I haven't heard anyone talk about it for a while, but you used to be able to call 800-222-1020, tell them your VIN, and GM would send you a "Chevrolet 19xx Corvete Specifications" booklet for FREE. It has a lot of good information (specs & identification). I don't believe it has performance times and the only magazine articles I've read about the '77 are for the L82.
BTW, Welcome :seeya

Welcome!!
I don't have my Corvette Black book here, but it has some good information for decoding options, horsepower, things like that. Once you have that information, you can go here http://www.smokemup.com/auto_math/index.php to calculate 1/4 mile times. The best way to figure that out is to take it to the track. I just started going a few months ago, and even though I am slower than many cars, it's still fun. I get a real blast out of seeing what tuning has been doing to my times. :D
See if you can get involved in a Corvette Challenge. It's bracket racing, so everyone has a chance to win. It a blast to watch a bunch of Vettes blasting downt the 1/4.

Welcome! Nice car! I have pages from the corvette black book that I can scan and send to you if you want me to. They wont give you performance numbers or ratios, but it tons of interesting facts, and build dates.

Re: 77 L48 specifications (tnt76vette)
Thanks everyone for your help, I just finished a complete resto, and was trying to get some idea what my rearend ratio might be and some idea how a stock 77 performed. My 77 is a white, blk int. used original block, dart 202 heads, flat top pistons,.30 over, cam, edelbrock performer intake, ceramic coated header & true dual exhaust with magnaflow mufflers, 9.5 : 1 comp.and tranny with a good shift kit.

Great buy... cant beat a 77. Mines a late one, built in May 77 (36359)
I just did my rear and and I have a 3.08 in there (2500 revs at 60).
Also had the rear sway bar which gave me the gymkhana suspension.
Unfortunately got the California emissions package too..
I think my original owner wanted an L82 as he put L82 badges and valve covers on it.
Black book is great value as well as Cars & parts catalog of Corvette ID numbers. I have both.
Come back with your info and I will post the reply from the great book of all ID numbers
