69 T-TOP Numbers Matching - need some help on the price??
Allright guys...I ran into a 69 here in Michigan and have yet to go see it, but this is what I know of it. It is stated to be all original 87k on it's 350/350 engine. Original paint which is Burg Met? Does anyone know where I can verify the paint code on that? He stated that the engine runs great, he can drive it with no problem. It is a 4 speed car. He says the chrome and interior is very nice, no cracks in the dash, no pitting in the chrome. He did say it eventually would need to be painted since the paint is 17 years old. It also sounds like the calipers, exhaust and things like that would need to be gone through also. He stated it would be great for a restoration project but it would not all need to be done to drive it on a regular basis. He also stated that the frame is in great shape, no rust that he knows of. The clock and the radio do not work also. He is asking $8000. Does anybody have an opinion on what this car is worth? Any help would be great.

Sounds like a nice car. If it's a matching numbers car, the price is not bad. Check on the engine suffix code this list may help you decode if the engine installed is still the original:

Burgandy (paint code 988 located on the trim tag on drivers door jamd. It was available with either black (code ZQ4, vinyl; or 402 leather) or saddle (420 vinyl or 421 leather) interior.

If it's as good as it sounds (and that's a big if), then $8K is a good price. I've looked at a bunch of cars, though, where they said things like "no rust," and then I found plenty of rust.
