why a 3 pc. lower rad. hose?
I have a 70 bb w/air that I am changing the lower radiator hose. The hose that was on there was a one piece. I see in the vett catalogs that the hose is supose to be a 3 piece (two hoses and a coupler). What is the purpose of the 3-piece set-up?
The main reason I am changing the hose is because it rubs against my metal fuel line and I am trying to reduce heat transfer to the fuel (I am having fuel perculation problems).
Can I get the 3-piece hose assembly through the auto parts store?

if you have trouble finding it ,let me know I just switched over to a alum rad and will be using a one piece lower hose.

I'm not positive on this answer, but I think I've read somewhere it was for fan shroad clearance, The "coupler" pipe is necked down in the middle so that it can fit between the shroud and the a-arm.
