Default Slight problem with my Bilstien shock install

I finally got around to installing the Bilstiens I bought through the GP with Van Steel. I had one problem. The top locking nut on the driver side front shock will not tighten down. The passenger side locked down without a hitch, but this one just keeps turning and turning without locking down. Anyone experience the same problem? I did drive the car and it seems to ride allot smoother than with the other shocks. (KYB GR2 in the front and standard KYB in the rear) I will put it through some twisties later this week and post my thoughts. Thanks for the replies.

Mmmm, time to go at it again with an allen wrench, my friend! Use an allen key to hold the stud still while you crank on it with a wrench. It'll be a lot of tedium to suffer through, but ya gotta do it.

well, and air rachet usually zips them on and off.

Once they come off, I gather you cannot use them again? Is that how self-locking nuts work? I would just as soon take that one nut off and double-nut that one shock.
