Fake Hooker Sidepipes installed (pics)
Got the fake Hooker Sidepipes installed. Thanks to Jim Tulk (LB66393)
for suppling me with a couple of t-bolts and whoever else posted the
idea of using carrigde bolts. Good thing these are not hooked up
because I would have about 4 leg burns just from the test drive.
Also, don't have to worry about blueing or cops.
Couple of pics of the sidepipes, still have to mod. and replace the drive's side running board. Also one pic of ill fitting mirrored-ttop. Click on pic to enlarge pics.

They look cool, and I am by no means trying to start anything, but some people who despise ricers because they put ground effects on there car with no gain in performance should look close. People can spend money making their car look cooler or faster or meaner without being rice. PS, leg burns do suck, everytime I ride my bike with shorts, I wish I hadn't.

They look great! But my personal opinion? Hook em up or lose em! :) What do they do underneath the car? Are they really fake, as in, not able to be made functional? MJ

Re: Fake Hooker Sidepipes installed (DMONSVETTE)
Details: Bought them off of ebay for $400.00 including shipping.
They can be hooked up to headers. Basically it is a collector into a sidepipe.
Real exhaust is exiting the rear under car, you can bearly see the tips.
I may hook them up once I replace my motor, probably next year
after I collect my yearly bonus. As I was taking it on a test cruise
I already received applause from an onlooker. These really make the
Vette stand out. I'm glad I got them, real Hooker headers and sidepipes
would have cost me about $1300.00 including shipping.

Don't people realize that they are fake just by listening to your car? I'd think you'd get laughed at. Though they look cool.

Re: Fake Hooker Sidepipes installed (SicChild)
I saw a set of those at a show a couple weeks ago. At a distance I said to myself, cool Hooker sidemounts. Then as I approached and looked inside the front fender well you could clearly see they were shells! They remind me of the "show-tubes" J.C. Whitney sold years ago for "boogie-vans". If In remember correctly, you can make them funtional, but only one of those pipes connects to the header---probably a 2in dia.
I woulda waited and saved for the real McKoy. :yesnod:

club to find their website. No pics of the t-bolts or carrige bolts as they are installed on the car already. Just go to the hardware store and ask for carridge bolts, they should be able to help you. HTH

Maybe I'm getting old but :skep:
Jet Hot Hookers, spent $924.00. The fake ones look good and don't burn, but I'd go with the Jet Hots again, JMO.

Dmonsvette,
Great pictures. I like what you did with the wheels. What did you do to center of the wheel--it looks like you bought some metal covers (if so where did you get them) and painted them black. How did you paint the red in the cut outs? Can you please tell me exactly what you did? Thanks.

Wheels came with the black center and I brushed each and every slot
with serveral coats of high temp spray paint, PITA. I did not really want to
spend alot of time on these rims as I will be buying aftermarket rims
once I decide on what style/size of rim to buy. HTH
