Started working on the weatherstripping on my 78, mind you it has been apart 3 years. I have a long tubular piece that goes somewhere, in the hood area I think, but it looks like it could go behind the T-tops too. I thought nothing went behind the tops though. Here is a pic that confuses me...It shows a piece of weatherstrip running across the top on this 78 from the top of the rear window weatherstrip piece under the stainless T bar in the middle to the other side. Can someone tell me did a piece go here or not and where one does go under the hood..

The piece goes on the windshield side of the hood and wraps a couple of inches around the corner on both sides

Do you have to split it or something to put it on the ledge or glue it down, I need more info no doubt. I really don't know where it would go as you say

The following pic is of an early hood but the mounting place is the same on your hood, being along the top in the corner between hood frame and decksurface
