Weird noise from rear
I have a "clink" noise that comes from the rear when I first apply the brakes sometimes. It doesn't happen all the time, but I notice it most when I'm driving slow. It's not the clunk of a missing diff bushing, it's more of a "clink" or "tink" sound of something tapping metal. I can't seem to isolate it to figure out exactly where it's coming from.
Any ideas?

I couldn't help but laugh at your post title. :lolg:  :lolg:
But, seriously...it sounds like when the pistons retract they let the brake pads free float and then there's the "tink" when they contact before engaging the pads against the rotors.
But for piece of mind, you can simply remove the wheels and check the brakes.

My Vette does that too as did some of my other cars. I think it might be the pads shifting on the retaining pins. You might try a small dab of high temp grease (like copper coat or similar) on the area where they make conatact.

I have the "tink" sound also. I guess I will have to try the grease thing to see if it works for me.
